Bio: Rachael Sophrin Lorimer is a multi-disciplinary printmaker, painter and educator. Her artwork layers light and texture evoking the scale, sensations and memories of natural spaces.

As an artist-educator, Rachael guides students of all ages through a tactile and process-based exploration of materials and techniques. She brings her natural capacity for leadership and facilitation into her community-based workshops, sharing her love for printmaking with others, and leveraging the medium as vehicle for connection and storytelling.

Rachael owns and operates Studio OSYARI (ahs-YAR-eee), a community print shop in Troy, NY where she offers open studio hours and workshops. In 2024, she founded the Printmakers Guild of NY, a regional artist-led community of printmakers. Rachael is a dedicated mentor and community organizer for the arts and holds a BFA from The Cooper Union.

She now lives with her partner, son and two cats in a yellow house in Troy. Her creative career and love of printmaking are greatly influenced by her grandfather Saul Sophrin, who was also a printmaker and artist.
