2026 Printmakers Showcase

Commanding Color

The Printmakers Guild of NY is now accepting submissions for the 2026 Printmakers Showcase: Commanding Color. This year’s exhibition is a full-blown celebration of the power of color in printmaking. We want it all: a full spectrum of vibration, mood, saturation, and juicy ink to make your eyes pop; limited palettes paired with black & white for contrast and impact; subtle translucent layers, colored papers or materials, and more – show us what you’ve got!

PGNY highlights the diversity of work created by artists working with print-based media. We welcome artists 18+ with any level of experience to apply, including students. Hosted by the Arts Center of the Capital Region in Troy, NY. The show will be juried by volunteer members of PGNY, and curated by PGNY founder Rachael Lorimer.

2026 Jury Panel

Noah Breuer

Noah Breuer is an American artist originally from Berkeley, California. His creative work examines themes of family, identity, labor and diaspora. His current project examines the visual legacy of “Carl Breuer and Sons,” his Jewish family’s former textile printing business, founded 1897 in Bohemia and seized by the Nazis in 1939. Breuer holds a BFA in Printmaking from the Rhode Island School of Design, an MFA from Columbia University, and a graduate research certificate in traditional woodblock printmaking and paper-making from Kyoto Seika University in Japan.

Recent solo exhibitions include Return to Austria at the Austrian Cultural Forum (Prague), Reclamation at the National Czech and Slovak Museum & Library (Cedar Rapids, IA, 2023), Table Settings at Urban Glass (Brooklyn, NY, 2023), and Something Stolen / Something New at Atelier Circulaire (Montreal, QC, 2022). His artist books have been published by the San Francisco Center for the Book and Small Editions in Brooklyn. His work is in the permanent collections of the New York Public Library and the Watson Library at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. Breuer currently works as an Assistant Professor at the University at Buffalo SUNY.

Richard Kegler

Richard Kegler formed P22 Type Foundry in 1994 and, after starting the Book Arts Center in Buffalo, New York, became the director of the Wells College Book Arts Center in Aurora, NY. Richard has spent his career combining an interest in traditional printing crafts with entrepreneurial initiatives. His current project, Dry Inc., focuses on pre-digital letterpress printing technologies, typography, and new printing tool development.

Amanda Kralovic

Amanda Kralovic was born and raised in the Saratoga Springs, NY area. She graduated from University of Massachusetts Dartmouth in May 2015 with her MFA in Printmaking. Her work has been exhibited in many juried national and international exhibitions in the United States and New Zealand. Her recent work deals with the emotional and natural sensations of water as it moves through and around the body and mind, portrayed through shape, pattern and color. Amanda has taught art at several colleges including Middlebury College, SUNY Adirondack, Central Michigan University, and University of Albany. Currently she is teaching at Emma Willard School and University of Albany.

Rachael Lorimer

Rachael Sophrin Lorimer is a multi-disciplinary printmaker, painter, and educator. Her abstract artworks layer light and texture to mimic the sensation and scale of natural spaces. As a 2022-2024 Creatives Rebuild NY Artist Employment Program grant recipient, Rachael merged her printmaking practice with community development, folding her strengths in communication and facilitation into her creative process through workshops, interviews, and curation of community-made artworks. In 2024, she founded the Printmakers Guild of NY, a regional, artist-led professional community for printmakers. In this volunteer role, she leads the collaborative production of PGNY exhibitions, activities and print fairs; regional events designed to offer networking and economic opportunity to contemporary printmakers residing in New York and neighboring states. Rachael holds a BFA from The Cooper Union and currently lives in Troy, NY.
