Artist Statement: I am intrigued by the relationships between:

mark and intention,

rhythm and awkwardness,

sign and context,

time and presence.

I work to re-merge re-integrate the feeling sense of being part of a much larger and often mysterious whole

To allow the communicative marks to fill with the sounds and textures of the world

To allow the spaces and the things-that-we-think-are-things re-mind us they/we are all part of one

To allow for that exhale of coming home

Here and Then is part of a recent series titled Headwaters begun during a residency at The Anderson Center at Tower Hill in Red Wind MN. The layered photo intaglio plates became metaphors and references, intermingling memories and the present moment. The hand stitching became a way of connecting, weaving together, mending what needs to be healed.
